Like many important technologies, the cameras we use today are the result of a long, iterative process many great minds contributed to. The earliest precursor of camera technology began to appear in the fifth century B.C.

Fun Facts:

The camera is among the most important of technological inventions, taking various forms and serving countless purposes. Cameras actually predate photography, since early cameras were able only to reflect an image where it could be observed or traced by hand.
